Welston Challenge Day 30th June 3 schools take part in a challenging day of field and lab events at the Welston Science Centre. Pond dipping, woodland studies, microscopy and dark room investigations.
The Bionic Ear Roadshow 1st July
An exciting presentation on the science behind our hearing. With huge brains and ears on stage, the audience is guaranteed to be entertained. For schools during the day and the general public in the evening.
Science Olympiad 2nd July
For BUZZ, Pembrokeshire's Bright Young Things. 20 schools will be bringing 4 pupils to take part in five events for the olypiad of science. These talented children will need problem solving skills to tackle five subjects, in biology, physics and the environment.
Science Aglow 3rd July 100+ Year six pupils bring investigative science projects to the Darwin Centre for display and discussion. Top quality projects are awarded Crest Awards from the BA. Local and national environmental organisations e.g. Keep Wales Tidy and the Marine Conservation Society lead workshops throughout the day. An inspirational presentation is given by a TV celebrity Pictured is Monty Halls (Animal Planets ‘Great Ocean Adventures).
July 4th: Charles Darwin Lecture
Professor Tony Campbell Wales School of Medicine, Cardiff University, presents a lecture on the life of Charles Darwin. This year the lecture is at Milford Haven Secondary School and is to be attended by 150+ students.
