The February Science Aglow took place on the anniversary of Charles Darwin's birthday.


Silent World at Science AglowThe Silent World are always a really popular workshop with their tanks of local marine creatures.

Monty Halls attended the event for the second year running and gave an inspiring talk about his involvement with wildlife and highlighting the importance for all of us taking responsibility for conservation.

MP Stephen Crabbe attended the event to show his support for science education with young people. The children enjoyed meeting him and chatting about their science projects, Stephen even got involved with Templeton's experiment...

The Milford Haven museum attended for the first time and told the children the history of fishing in the haven, which included whaling and commercial fishing.

 

 

 

The Marine Conservation Society, Wildlife Trust and Skomer Marine Nature Reserve also donated their time to provide workshops for the children.

 

 

 

 

The children who attended the event and participated in the science project all received Bronze Crest Awards from the British Association for the Advancement of Science. These awards were presented by Monty Halls, Stephen Crabbe and Professor Tony Campbell from Cardiff University.
